(10th Mar 1942)

This postcard was issued on 10th Mar 1942 to commemorate 'Hero's Memorial Day'. The card was published by Photo Hoffmann, Munich and there was an inscription on the reverse 'München. Haus der Deutschen Kunst | K.Bronisch, Berlin. | Im memoriam'. There was no pre-printed stamp, however, there was an official stamp Michel 812, that was also issued to commemorate the day.

THE DAY OF THE ARMED FORCES - DRESDEN
(29th Mar 1942)

This was a series of six postcards each of which depicts a merit badge as well as the inscription "TAG DER WEHRMACHT". The six cards exist with a pre-printed stamp either a 3Rpf, 5Rpf or 6Rps Hitler portrait stamp, or without a pre-printed stamp, for a total of 24 possible variations.

As well as these postcards there were a great number of others published to commemorate The Day of the Armed Forces in 1942.

THE SOVIET PARADISE EXHIBITION - BERLIN
(9th May/21st Jun 1942)

In addition to the Vienna 1941 issue cards, there were four series published in 1942. The first three series consist of six cards each and were issued when the exhibition visited Berlin, Hamburg and Essen. The fourth series does not have any date or location information.

There were four postcards published to commemorate the 1st postage stamp show in Gau Wartheland. Two of them had an industrial scene on the left-hand pane and the other two had a picture of General Litzmann. Each design came with either a 5PF Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp or a 5Pf Hitler Medallion stamp. There was also a special cancel used at the show.

These postcards were released to solve printing issues with the earlier cards that suffered from poor quality, smearing of the ink due to the rough card used in their production. These cards were intended for private use only for inter-company mail and it was expressly forbidden to sell them to dealers or collectors during the war.
