OFFICIAL POSTCARD
EUROPEAN POSTAL CONGRESS
BACKGROUND: Issued 12th Oct 1942. This card was issued to commemorate the European Postal Congress held in Vienna from 12th to 24th Oct 1942. The pre-printed stamp is the same as one of the three official stamps Michel 821, designed by Erich Meerwald and released at the same time. There was also a special cancel.

UNUSED CARDS
The unused P294 card below has been favour cancelled with the special cancel used to commemorate the European Postal Congress held in Vienna in 1942. In addition the three commemorative stamps issued to celebrate the congress have also been added, but the card was never postally used.
SPECIAL CANCELLATION
1. The following card bears the special handstamp used to commemorate the Congress and bears the inscription "WIEN | Europäischer PostKongress", applied on 24th Oct 1942
2. The next card also bears the special congress handstamp, this time applied on 12th Oct 1942.
3. Another example with the special congress cancel, this time postally used and destined for BROMBERG on 24th Oct 1942.
DOMESTIC USAGE
The card below was sent from HANNOVER to WUPPERTAL on 7th Sep 1943.
The following domestically used card was sent from MARKNEUKIRCHEN in the Vogtland area of SAXONY to BERLIN-SCHÖNEBURG.
Just like the example above this card was also sent from MARKNEUKIRCHEN in the Vogtland area of SAXONY to BERLIN-SCHÖNEBURG.
The following domestically used P294 postcard was sent from HAMBURG to MÜNCHEN on 20th Nov 1942.
FOREIGN USAGE
This first foreign used example was cancelled in "DEN HAAG", the NETHERLANDS.
The foreign used card below was a local delivery in STRASSBURG dated on 'The Day of the Stamp' on 10th Jan 1942 and has the special cancel used to commemorate the event.
