BACGROUND: This card was issued to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the German Society of Goldsmiths. This is a private version of the official P293 postcard. The image on this Gustav Tischer designed card is of the Goldsmith's House in the city of HANAU.

SONDERSTEMPEL: A special handstamp inscribed "HANAU | Einweihung des Deutschen Goldschmeidehauses" and a machine cancel inscribed "HANAU | Das Deutsche Goldschmeidershaus" were used during this period.
