INTRODUCTION:
The study of the various postmarks and cancellations used in 1935 is a difficult one due to the limited information available. Fortunately, we have the BOCHMANN catalogue to assist in identifying most of them. Whilst the catalogue covers most special cancellations and is a required source for this area of study, the information provided is limited and does not put the various postmarks and cancellations into context. The Bochmann catalogue forms the basis of this page, but I have provided additional information where possible. My apologies now for any errors and the inevitable omissions.
SAAR VOTE - (MOTHER WITH CHILD)

This special slogan inscribed "Deutsch ist | die Saar" - 'The Saar is German' features the first line of the song bearing the same name. It was used in Saarbrücken during 1935 and 1936 and can only be found on German issued stamps.
A second slogan inscribed "Heute | Volksabstimmung | im Saargebeit" - 'Saar plebiscite today' was used only for one hour on the Sunday of the vote, 13th Jan 1935. The post office usually did not open on Sundays but an exception was made for this one hour in order to frank mail with this special cancellation.

MUSICIAN'S ANNIVERSARIES
SCHÜTZ, BACH AND HÄNDEL FESTIVAL

Although there was no special handstamp used to commemorate this festival there were three slogan cancels in use. The first features an image of Händel and the inscription "Reichs | Bach Fest | Leipzig | 16-24 Juni 1935".
The second slogan has no image but is inscribed "Deutsche | Bach-händels-Schütz= | feier 1935". Where the text "Bach-händels-Schutz=" runs diagonally from lower left to upper right.
A third slogan again has no image and is inscribed "Deutsche | Bach-händels-Schütz= | feier 1935 | durch gefühut von der | Reichs musikkammer" - 'German | Bach-Handels-Schütz= | celebration 1935 | by guided by the | Reich Music Chamber'.
OSTROPA PHILATELIC EXHIBITION

RELATED POSTCARD:
The 1935 "Ostropa International Philtelic Exhibition" was held from 23rd Jun until 3rd Jul in the city of Königsberg. Along with the three special handstamps there were two slogan cancels.
The first special handstamp features a knight and the inscription "KÖNIGSBERG (P.R) | OSTROPA | INT-POSTWERTZ-AUSSTELLNG | VOM 23. JUNI - 3. JULI 1935"
The second handstamp was use fro a single day on 30th Jun and is inscribed ""KÖNIGSBERG (P.R) | GROSSES MOOSBAUCH | OSTROPA 1935 | 30.6.35 | SCHIFFSPOST".
The third handstamp features a sailboat and glider and is inscribed "KÖNIGSBERG (P.R) | CRANZ-ROSSITTEN X SCHIFFSPOST | OSTROPA 1935 | 27.6.35".
The first slogan cancel features the image of a knight on the left with the inscription "INTERNATIONALE | POSTWERTZEICHEN | AUSSTELLUNG | OSTROPA 1935 | KÖNIGSBERG PR 23.6-3.7". The second slogan features an image of the Exhibition Hall and the inscription "OSTROPA 1935 | INTERNAT POSTWERT- | ZEICHEN AUSSTELLUNG | KÖNIGSBERG PR. 23.6-3.7"
100th ANNIVERSARY OF GERMAN RAILWAYS

RELATED POSTCARD:
There was a single cancel used from 14th Jul until 13th Oct 1935 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the German railways and the German Railway Exhibition held in NÜRNBERG. The special handstamp is inscribed "100 JAHRE DEUTSCHE EISENBAHNEN | REICHSBAHN | AUSSTELLUNG | 1935"
