BACKGROUND: P209 was issued in 1929 to raise funds for the "Deutsche Nothilfe" charity. This card is similar to the 1928, P208, Deutsche Nothilfe card and features a different 8 Rpf Coat of Arms pre-printed stamp. The inscription at the bottom of the card reads "Schafft frohe, Kräffige Jugend!" - "Create happy, strong Children".
An estimated 1,465,030 cards were sold and the cards were valid for use until 30th Jun 1930.
In addition to the official card there were a number of cards with various private printings as shown below.
