MICHEL BLOCK 4
BROWN RIBBON RACE
(MINIATURE SHEET)
42Rpf + 108Rpf
BACKGROUND: Issued 22nd Jun 1936 and designed by Prof. Klein to commemorate "Das Braune Band von Deutshcland", The Brown Ribbon Race held in Munich in 1936. There are two variations of this minisheet: Type 'X' has a swastika watermark with the leg pointing to the left, and Yype 'Y' has a swastika watermark with the leg pointing to the right (much more difficult to find than the 'X' variant). This sheet exists imperforate and there are large variations in the paper thickness due to handmade process that was used during manufacture. The sheet size is 147 x 105mm. The stamp, Michel 621X, can be found used without the Minisheet.
