BACKGROUND: Issued 22nd Jun 1936 and designed by Prof. Klein to commemorate "Das Braune Band von Deutshcland", The Brown Ribbon Race held in Munich in 1936. This stamp was produced as part of Minisheet Block 4.
There are two variations of this stamp: Type 'X' has a swastika watermark with the leg pointing to the left, and Yype 'Y' has a swastika watermark with the leg pointing to the right (much more difficult to find than the 'X' variant). This stamp exists imperforate.
