This series of postcards is actually six different sets of cards all under the "INFANTRIE 486" banner. The cards were prodcued by VERLAG UND VERTRIEB C. PAHL & Co. of HAMBURG 11.



All of the cards have the same short text on the reverse side in the upper left-hand corner that reads "ADOLF HITLER: ÜBER ALLEM STEHT IN SEINER LEISTUNG DER DEUTSCHE INFANTERIST" - '"ADOLF HITLER: ABOVE ALL IN HIS PERFORMANCE STANDS THE GERMAN INFANTRYMAN".

"Auch die berüchtigten sowjetischen Sandwege werden von dem guten Kamerad unserer Grenadiere, dem Pferd, bemeistert."

'Even the notorious Soviet sand paths are mastered by our grenadiers' good comrade, the horse.'

No. F2

"Das brave Pferd überwindet auch diesen Schlamm."

'The good horse overcomes even this mud.'

No. F3

"Das brave Pferd, der treue Kamerad der Infanteriste, bringt die Fahrzeuge rutschend, glitschend und mahlend vorwärts."

'The good horse, the loyal comrade of the infantrymen, brings the vehicles forward by slipping, sliding and grinding.'

No. F4

""Kamerad Pferd" bringt den Grenadieren Nachschub durch Wasser, Schlamm und sand nach vorn."

'“Comrade Horse” brings supplies to the grenadiers through water, mud and sand.'

No. F5

"Die Schlammstraβen beginnen zu verschenken. Mit unseren treuen Pferden wird die Verpflegung der Grenadiere herangebracht."

'The mud roads are starting to give away. The food for the grenadiers is brought in with our loyal horses.'

"Nun ist es Winter geworden. Das treue Pferd schafft trotz Eis und Schnee den Nachschub nach vorn."

'Now it's winter. The loyal horse manages to get supplies forward despite the ice and snow.'

No. F7

"Frühling im Sowjetlande. Von allen Hohen flieβt Schneewasser auf den Zufuhrwegen zusammen. Futterwagen unserer Grenadiere auf dem Wege zur Stellung."

'Spring in the Soviet Union. Snow water flows from all heights onto the supply routes. Our grenadiers' food wagon on the way to the position.'
