OFFICIAL DEUTSCHES REICH POSTCARDS USED IN OSTLAND
The region termed OSTLAND encompasses parts of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus. From the day that these countries were occupied until 4th Nov 1941 these territories used regular issue German issue postage stamps. Even after the issue of stamps overprinted OSTLAND, regular issue German stamps were still valid for use in these areas.Official postcards issued in the OSTLAND region are only found with Adolf Hitler portrait pre-printed stamps of either 3, 5 or 6 Rpf.
