100th ANNIVERSARY of BIRTH of GRAF von ZEPPELIN
(1938)

BACKGROUND: These two postcards were published by an unknown printer to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin.

SONDERSTEMPEL: There were two official Sonderstempel used for the Anniversary:

No. 1: "FRIEDRICHSHAFEN | 100. | Geburtstag des | Grafen von Zeppelin"
No. 2: "KONSTANZ | Zeppelinpost - Ausstellung in der Geburtstag des Zeppelins | 1838 - 1938 | veranst v. B.S.V Konstanz | im R.d.Ph."

1. COUNT HÄSELER WITH COUNT ZEPPELIN

The first card has the inscription "Graf häseler mit dem Grafen Zeppelin | die ältesten Generle der deutschen Armee" - 'Count Häseler with Count Zeppelin | the oldest generals of the German army'

In addition to the SST used in FRIEDRICHSHAFEN this card has a red, rectangular "1838 | Graf Ferdinand | v. Zeppelin | 1938" stamp.

2. The DESTRUCTION of L. 11

The inscription on the second card reads "Zerstörung des Marine-Luftschiffes L. 11 | --- 17. Oktober 1913 ---" - 'Destruction of the naval airship L. 11 | --- October 17, 1913 ---'

In addition to the SST used in KONSTANZ this card has a red, rectangular "1838 | Graf Ferdinand | v. Zeppelin | 1938" stamp.
