FIRST CHRISTMAS of the UNITED AUSTRIAN PEOPLE

This rather dramatic postcard was published to raise funds for the Winter Relief Fund and commemorates the first Christmas of the united Austrian people following the Anschluss in April.

SONDERSTEMPEL: There was a special handstamp tied to the card inscribed "WIEN 1 | Volksweihmacht der Ostmarke" - 'VIENNA 1 | Public consecration of the Ostmarke', which can be seen on the example below.
