BACKGROUND: This private postcard was issued to promte the resort location of Rathen. The pre-printed stamp is a 6Rpf Hindenburg Medallion. In addition to this card there was another one in portrait format inscribed "Karl-May-Spiele".

SONDERSTEMPEL: There was a special cancellation inscribed "RATHEN (SÄCHS.SCHWEIZ) | Karl May-Spiele" and featuring Karl May.

The second card is in portrait format and is coloured red, white, blue and black and features a cowboy and an indian on horseback. Below them is the inscription "KARL-MAY-SPIELE | FELSENBÜHNE KURORT RATHEN SÄCHS.SCHWEIZ | MAI-AUG | 1938"
