Karl May was a German author who died in Radebeul on 30th Mar 1912. There is a website dedicated to Karl May's memory. There were two different designs of private postcard issued to commemorate the Collectors' Show held in Radebeul, and each design exists both with and without a pre-printed stamp.

SONDERSTEMPEL: There was a special cancellation inscribed 'radebeul 2 | D.S.G Werbeschau' used to commemorate the event. Several of the cards below feature the special cancel that was available.

There were two different versions of this card without a pre-printed stamp. The first has a single line of text simply "Karl May", and the other has 4 lines of text, "Karl May | Deutsche Sammler-Gemeinschaft | Ortsgruppe Werbeschau | Radebeul 15.Mai.1938".
