GAUTAG - LEIPZIG
(21st/22nd May 1938)
BACKGROUND: Published by R. Adam of Dresden to commemorate Gau Day in Leipzig, Saxony. Another postcard was also available featuring Gau Day and the Hitler Youth march in Leipzig, and is inscribed 'HJ Sachsen'.
SONDERSTEMPEL: There were 3 special cancels used in conjunction with this event, all cancelled 'LEIPZIG'.

OFFICIAL POSTCARD OF GAUTAG SACHSEN
DOVE OF PEACE
The first of these two cards was published by R. Adam of Dresden and features a dove flying above the Völkerschlachtdenkmal or 'Monument to the Battle of the Nations' situated to the sluth-east fo the city of Leipzig.

The second card was published by Lehmannsche Buchdruckerei, Dresden and has a dramatic image of an eagle with the Hitler Youth logo in the background. The card is inscribed "HJ. SACHSEN | MARSEHIER ! | zumGautag in Leipzig | am 21./22 Mai 1938"
