POSTWERTZEICHEN AUSSTELLUNG - BERLIN
PP142-C-29
(1st to 3rd Apr 1938)
BACKGROUND: These four printed to private order postcards were issued to commemorate the Berlin Philatelists' Exhibition held from the 1st to 3rd April 1938. The cards feature a green 5Rpf Luftpost pre-printed stamp and the text "Landesverband Berlin | Postwertzeichen Austellung 300" or 'Regional Association Berlin | Postage stamp exhibition 300'.
There are two variations of each card, the Type 1 has a dotted 'i' in the word 'Berliner', the Type 2 does not have a dotted 'i' in the word 'Berliner'.
SONDERSTEMPEL: There was also a special cancel used, which can be seen on most of the eaxmples below and is inscribed "BERLIN W62 | L.V.Berlin | Philatelisten | Zeigen | Postwertzeichen-Ausstellung im Zoo".
