DAY of GERMAN ART

BACKGROUND: This private postcard was issued 9th Jul 1938 and designed by Richard Klein to celebrate the 1938 Day of German Art. PP127-C-34 features a pre-printed 6Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp but there was also another version of the card, identical except without the pre-printed stamp.
SPECIAL CANCEL: The special cancel used to commemorate the exhibition can be seen on the example below. The Day of German Art took place annually, usually in July, and celebrations lasted for three days, starting on a Friday.
