S.A. COMPETITIONS
VALIDITY: 12th Jul 1938 until 31st Dec 1939, however examples are known with cancellation dates from 8th Jul 1938. A total of 231,000 cards were printed.
BACKGROUND: Official postcard issued 12th Jul 1938 to advertise the Reich competitions of the SA in Berlin. The pre-printed 6 Rpf stamp features an SA man (head shot). The picture on the left shows a map of greater Germany with the 'SA' symbol and a sword and swastika surrounded by an oak leaves laurel.
SPECIAL CANCEL:
As well as the official card there were several official cards with additional private printing.
