OTHER EXAMPLES
POSTALLY UNUSED
DOMESTIC USAGE
FOREIGN USAGE
JAPAN
1. This first example was sent from LEIPZIG to TOKYO, JAPAN on 14th Aug 1929. The card was carried by airmail via MOSCOW on 2nd Sep 1929. Apparently the card was not claimed for 8 days "NON RECLAME" (Not Claimed) and "REBUTS" (waste) and so was returned to the sender via SAN FRANCISCO.LEIPZIG - BERLIN - MOSCOW - TOKYO - SAN FRANCISCO - LEIPZIG
ITALY
1. The following card is somewhat confusing. It was posted in ÜBERLINGEN on LAKE CONSTANCE in Mar 1930 but the cancellation date reads "38.3.30". The destination was MERANO where it arrived on 11th Mar 1930. The post office in MERANO added 25 Centesemi in fines which is confusing as the 15 Rpf pre-printed stamp should have been sufficient to cover the cost of delivery.NETHERLANDS
1. Another foreign used card, this time sent to AMSTERDAM in the NETHERLANDS on 23th Feb 1932. The card was posted on the NÜRNBERG to GRÄFFENBERG train, No. 54.2. The next card was sent from BIELEFELD to the HAGUE in the NETHERLANDS on 30th Sep 1933. This example also features a slogan cancellation encouraging the population to join the Luftschutzbund or Air Raid Protection Association.
3. Below is another example, this time sent from GRAZ to ARNHEM on 9th Oct 1930.
SWITZERLAND
1. This foreign used card was sent to BIVIO in SWITZERLAND on 20th Feb 1931. Along with the regular MANNHEIM CDS is a slogan cancel inscribed "FERNSPRECHER | SPART | ZEIT und GELD", - 'TELEPHONE | SAVES | TIME and MONEY'.2. Below is another card sent to SWITZERLAND, this time from BONN to LOCARNO on 27th Sep 1931.
