INVALID USAGE

1. The following postcard was sent from DINKELSBUHL on 17th Feb 1938 and was destined for KÖLN. The problem was however that the pre-printed stamp was only valid for use until 30th Jun 1934. Therefore the recipient of the card had to pay for the postage at 1.5x the correct fee (the correct fee was 6 Rpf, so 9 Rpf was the total required). The card has been stamped "Strafporto" or 'penalty postage'.
