GERMAN TRANSPORT EXHIBITION IN MUNICH

BACKGROUND: Issued 30th May 1925 (P206-I) and Aug 1925 (P206-II). Special postcard for the German Transport Exhibition in Munich. The stamp is inscribed "VERKEHRSASSTELLUNG | DEUTSCHES | MUNCHEN | DEUTSCHES REICH", designed by S v. Weech. The left-hand pane features a Reichsadler in four-colour print, designed by M. Eschle.

There are two main versions of this card, P206-I and P206-II. In addition, the P206-I has two variants:

P206-Ia: Yellowish-Green Without a gray serial number at the bottom left.
P206-Ib: Matt-Green Without a gray serial number at the bottom left. Total qty produced of I-a and I-b approx 122,000
P206-IIb: Matt-Green With a gray serial number at the bottom left. Qty produced approx 50,000.

There were several P206 cards with private printings, a large number of private postcards issued to commemorate the exhibition, as well as two official postage stamps.

SPECIAL CANCEL: There were three slogan cancels and two special cancels associated with the exhibition:

1. Slogan Machine cancel with flag and "DEUTSCHE VERKEHRS AUSSTELLUNG" above and "MÜNCHEN 1925-Juni OKTOBER" below.

2. Slogan Machine cancel with flag and three lines of text below "Deutsche | Verkehrs-Ausstellung | München 1925 - Juni - Oktober" below.

3. Slogan Hand stamp with eagle and wavy lines.

4. Special cancel inscribed "MÜNCHEN | Deutsche Verkehrsausstellung | 1925" available from 30th May until 11th Oct 1925.

5. Special cancel inscribed "MÜNCHEN | Deutsche Verkehrsausstellung" with eagle and two posthorns available from 4th Sep until 11th Oct 1925.

2. P206-I: Reverse side of official card with cartoon image of two hikers and text including "Goedike & Co. K.G. München".
3. P206-II: Reverse side of official card with small circular image in top left-hand corner and text "ZEPPELIN ECKNER SPENDE MÜNCHEN".
