Published 28th Dec 1899. Format 140 x 90mm. Special postcard issued to celebrate the turn of the century. The value stamp is a pre-printed Germania 5Pf stamp inscribed "REICHSPOST", with decorations (laurel branches around the value stamp). The design on the left hand side depicts the year "1900", in front of a sun emerging from the clouds.

Issued in 1899. This Kartenbrief has the same design on the front as that of K1-K7 previously, the only difference being that K8 has an open 'K' in the word 'Kartenbrief'. K8 is the last of eight Kartenbrief with this 10Pf 'large eagle in circle', pre-printed stamp.
It can be distinguished from the earlier cards by the open 'K' of 'Kartenbrief'.
