BACKGROUND: This series of two stamps was designed by Karl Diebitsch. They depict a Hitler Youth (Jung Volk) member blowing a trumpet which has the banner of the Hitler Youth hanging from it. Hitler Youth jamborees were held at various cities throughout the year. There are two variations - type 'x' has vertical gum rippling and type 'y' has horizontal gum rippling.
