BACKGROUND: These 12 'Deinstmarke' stamps were available from 18th Jan 1934 until the end of the war (or until stocks ran out). These stamps were used by government departments, police, schools, etc to send official mail through the postal system. There are many different shades of paper, ink, and gum available. These stamps were re-issued in 1942 with different colours and no watermark.
