BACKGROUND: This was the second of two stamps designed by Prof. Bauer and issued to commemorate the 175th Anniversary of the birth of Friedrich Schiller (German poet, philosopher, physician, historian, and playwright). The design of both stamps is the same, however the value and colour are different.
