MICHEL 476
GERMAN AID FOR THE NEEDY
(CASTLES and PALACES)

The annual stamp issue to raise funds for German charities in 1932 saw the release of a set of five stamps all depicting well-known German castles. The 12Rpf stamp features an image of Nürnberg Castle which stands on a sandstone ridge overlooking the town of Nürnberg in the State of Bavaria. It once stood as a symbol of the power of the Holy Roman Empire.
