TENTH NAZI PARTY RALLY - NÜRNBERG
'THE RALLY OF GREATER GERMANY'
(5th to 12th Sep 1938)

BACKGROUND: The 10th and final Nazi Party Rally was held in Nürnberg from 5th to 12th Sep 1938. A rally was planned for 1939 but it was cancelled due to the German invasion of Poland less than a week before the rally was due to start.

SPECIAL CANCEL: There was a special cancel inscribed "NURNBERG | Reichsparteitag der NSDAP"

SLOGAN CANCEL: The rectangular, machine slogan cancel, featured three swastika flags and a city view of Nürnberg with the inscription "Parteitag Grossdeutschlands".

VERLAG ANDRO, NÜRNBERG

Verlag Andro was a prolific publisher of postcards related to the various Nazi Party rallies and in 1938 the company prodcued a set of 12 postcards in a Leporello or folding booklet format. The photocards are all black and white images taken from various locations around the Nürnberg rally grounds.

The title of the booklet was "Die Bauten | auf dem | Reichsparteitaggelände | in der Stadt der Reichsparteitage | Nürnberg | 12 postkarten" - 'The buildings | on the | Nazi Party Rally Grounds | in the city of the Nazi party rallies | Nuremberg | 12 postcards'

The reverse side of each card bears the inscription "STADT DER REICHSPARTEITAG NÜRNBERG" followed by a description of the card itself

The cards are shown below in the order that they appear in the booklet, not the number on the reverse.
