5th SILESIAN POSTAL EXHIBITION
4th/7th Jan 1936

BACKGROUND: There were three postcards issued to commemorate the 1936 Silesia Postal Exhibition. The design of the cards is the same, the only difference is the colour of the text and the value of the pre-printed stamp. The value stamp was either a 3Rpf, a 5Rpf or a 6Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp. The colour of the text and images on the cards matches the colour of the value stamps.

PP122-C-17 has a 3Rpf pre-printed Hindenburg Medallion Stamp and exists in two variations. The first variant PP122-C-17/01 does not have an inscription below the image on the left pane, whereas PP122-C-17/02 has a rubber stamp inscribed "1. Tag der Briefmarke" below the image.

PP126-C-11 has a 5Rpf pre-printed Hindenburg Medallion stamp.

PP127-C-16 has a 6Rpf pre-printed Hindenburg Medallion stamp.

SPECIAL CANCEL: The examples below are all cancelled with the special cancel used in Breslau (Wrocław), the largest city in Silesia and now located in Poland. The cancel is simply inscribed "BRESLAU 1 | Silesiaposta" ad features a coat of arms in the centre.
