BAVARIAN OSTMARK EXHIBITION
(6th/7th Jun 1936)

BACKGROUND: There were three postcards published to commemorate the Bavarian Ostmark Postage Stamp Exhibition held in Coburg on 6th and 7th Jun 1936. The first card has a postman delivering mail using a stagecoach, the second shows a bus and the third a man on horseback approaching the gates to a town. The third image below has the special red rubber stamp which was used at the event.

SPECIAL CANCEL: There was a special cancellation inscribed Coburg | Briefmarken-Ausstellung | Bayr. Ostmark" as well as a special rectangular slogan postmark inscribed Briefmarkenausttellung | Bayerische Ostmark | Coburg | 6. -7. Juni 1936.

3Rpf HINDENBURG MEDALLION

This card also exists without the 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp.

6Rpf HINDENBURG MEDALLION

This postcard has a pre-printed 6Rpf Hindenburg Medallion stamp and the image is now of a motorised coach, a train and a castle on a hill in the distance.

(3) NO PRE-PRINTED STAMP

This third postcard does not have a pre-printed stamp. The image is now of a mounted postman approaching a beer hall and the waiter is standing ready with a stein full of beer. The examples below, from my collection have the special 3Rpf red rubber stamp that was also available.
