1st THÜRINGEN / JENA STAMP EXHIBITION
(3rd/4th Oct 1936)

BACKGROUND: There were two designs published to commemorate the Thüringian / Jena Stamp Exhibition. One card features the Market Place and Memorial, whereas the other features the city gates. Each design exists with either a 3Rpf or a 6Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp.

SPECIAL CANCEL: There was also a special cancel used which can be seen on some of the cards shown below and is inscribed "Jena | Thürposta 1-am 3.und 4. Okt 1936".

PP122-C-31
3Rpf HINDNEBURG MEDALLION

PP122-C-31/01 and /02 both have the same 3Rpf pre-printed Hindenburg Medallion stamp and identical text. The difference is in the image. PP122-C-31/01 features the Market Place and Memorial, whereas PP122-C-31/02 featurs the City Gates.
