75th ANNIVERSARY BERGEDORF STAMPS
(25th/27th Sep 1936)

BACKGROUND: Two postcards were published to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Bergedorf Stamps, and the hostorical exhibition held to celebrate the occassion between 25th and 27th Sep 1936. The first has text in blue and the second has text in black.

SPECIAL CANCEL: There was a special cancellation used that can be seen on the postcard below inscribed "BERGEDORF | 75 Jahre Bergedorfer Briefmarken". The image on the special cancel is half of the Lübeck, and half of the Hamburg coat of arms and below that a posthorn. This cancel was used from 25th to 27th Sep and again from the 3rd to the 4th of Oct 1936.

TEXT IN BLUE

1. This first example was a local delivery cancelled at the exhibition on the last day of the event, 27th Sep 1936.




2. The next card was favour cancelled at the exhibition but was not postally used.




3. The following postcard was cancelled on the first day of the exhibition.
