MICHEL P261
OFFICIAL POSTCARD
SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES

In addition to the two earlier official cards P259 and P260, there were another two official cards released, P261 and P262, both of which feature the sailing events held in Kiel from the 4th to 14th Aug 1936. The cards were designed by Prof. Anton of BREMEN and both cards feature a sailing boat from one of the competition events with Laboe Naval Memorial in the background.

The indicia stamp design was by Georg Fritz and is the same design as P259 through P262.

The cards were available to the public from 24th Jul but were only available from the Olympic Special post offices in BERLIN and KIEL from 1st Aug 1936. The cards were valid for use until 30th Jun 1937.
