OFFICIAL POSTCARD
GERMAN COURT of JUSTICE
BACKGROUND: This postcard was issued on the 21st Oct 1936 and was valid until the end of the war. It has a 6 Rpf Hindenburg medallion pre-printed stamp and commemorates the laying of the foundation stone of the German Court of Justice in Munich.
SONDERSTEMPEL REFERENCE: BOCHMANN, Heft Nr 16, Page 553, S 88.
A special commemorative handstamp was available for use on 23rd and 24th October inscribed "MÜNCHEN | Haupstadt der Bewegung | Grundsteinlegung | des hauses des | Deutschen Rechts | 24.10.36".

As well as the official card there were several official cards with additional private printing.

1. The following domestically used P237 was cancelled with the special handstamp on 24.10.1936 (three days after the card was officially released) and was destined for ULM.



2. The next domestically used P237 was also cancelled with the special handstamp on 24.10.1936 and was destined for LEIPZIG.




DOMESTIC LONG DISTANCE WITHOUT ANY SPECIAL FEATURES
1. Cancelled in ZWÖNITZ on 10th Dec 1936 the following card has a regular CDS cancellation. The destination was FREIBERG.

SPECIAL SLOGAN CANCELS
3. Below is a P237 postcard that was sent from HANNOVER to BRAUNSWEIG on 30th Oct 1936. This example has a slogan cancel inscribed "Gautag der Technik | in | Hannover | vom 30.Oktober | bis 1. November 1936" - 'Gau technical Day in Hanover, from 30th October until 1st November 1936'.


4. Below is another P237 card with a special slogan cancellation inscribed "Radfahrer! halte den | Rückstrahler | stets in Ordnung!" - 'Cyclists, always use reflectors, ok!'. This public safety slogan was used in 18 towns and cities in 1936 and 1937. This particular example was a local delivery in POTSDAM on 24th Oct 1936.
