50th ANNIV of BRAUNSCHWEIG
STAMP COLLECTORS' GROUP
(1935)

This postcard was issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Braunschweig Stamp Collector's Group in 1935. There are at least three versions of this card available:

PP122-C-8: with a 3Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp.
PP127-C-8: with a 6Rpf Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp.
No Pre-Printed stamp.

PP122-C-8
(3Pf STAMP)

The first version, PP122-C-8 below, has a pre-printed 3Pf Hindenburg Medallion Stamp on the reverse. Also on the reverse side there is an inscription '1885 - 1935 | Verein Braunschweiger Briefmarkensammler e.V'.

PP127-C-8
(6Pf STAMP)

The second version, PP127-C-8, has a pre-printed 6Pf Hindenburg Medallion Stamp on the reverse.

NO PRE-PRINTED STAMP

This version has no pre-printed stamp (the example below has an adhesive 3Pf Hindenburg Medallion stamp attached, but this was applied at a later date in order to obtain the special cancel. The reverse side has the same inscription, only now in blue text and with an accompanying logo.

The special cancel on this example is the one used to commemorate the show and is inscribed "35 Ringtag | 25. Sammlertag | 1885 - 1935 | 50 Jahre Verein | Braunschw.Briefmarkensammler e.V." and was used from 31st May until 2nd Jun 1935.




Below is another example of this card without the pre-printed stamp, this one used in 1946 after the war had ended, and eleven years after it was first published.




A third example of this card can be found below cancelled in 1935 with the special handstamp.
