This postcard was issued on 1st Oct 1935 and was valid for use until 30th June 1936.

It was designed to commemorate the Harvest Thanksgiving Festival in Bückeberg near HAMELN and also for the opening of the museum of German Folklore in BERLIN. The postcard carries a 6 Rpf + 4 Rpf indicia stamp which shows the traditional costume of Lower Saxony. The 4 Rpf surcharge was a donation to the Emergency Service. There was a special cancel associated with this issue inscribed 'Bückeburg | Erntedanktag'.

The inscription reads as follows:

"Festpostkarte | der Deutschen Reichspost | zur Kundgeburg | auf dem Bückeberg bei hameln | und | zur Eröffnung des Museums | für Deutsche Volkskunde | in Berlin | Schloβ Bellevue | am Erntedanktag | 1935

"Festive postcard | of the Deutsche Reichspost | for the rally | on the Bückeberg near hameln | and | for the opening of the Museum | for German Folklore | in Berlin | Bellevue Castle | on Thanksgiving Day | 1935

Destination address in green text to "Kurt Horn | Dresden" with table on reverse and text "Auftrag" in blue text.

REICHSADLER AND LARGE SWASTIKA BANNERS ON REVERSE SIDE

No change to the front of the card but image of a column with a Reichsadler and large swastika banners on reverse side.
