(9th Nov 1934)

This postcard was issued to commemorate the victims of the failed Nazi putsch in Austria which took place from 25th to 30th July 1934. The card features the 13 Nazi supporters who were subsequently executed for their part in the attempted coup against Austria's government. The names of the those featured on the card are as follows:

7. Erich Wohlraab
8. Friedrich Wurnig
9. Franz Ebner
10. Ernst Feike

line There was another version of this card available, this time with the date '1934' and additional text below the image which reads:

"Die 13 Freiheitshelden, die für die befreiung Deutsch-Österreichs starben"

'The 13 freedom heroes who died for the liberation of German Austria'.

This version is physically larger than the card above measuring 162mm x 114mm instead of the more usual 149mm x 105mm.
