This postcard was issued in 1934 to highlight the fact that under the terms of the Versailles Treaty (1919) Germany was still being disadvantaged by the victorious powers who had 3,800 heavy guns compared to Germany's total lack of heavy artillery. The card was designed to appeal to Germans' sense of unfairness that the treaty was still holding Germany back, even 15 years after the end of the war.
