(POSTCARD)
BACKGROUND: Issued: 29th Dec 1934. Special postcard to raise money for the German Winter Welfare Fund. This card measures 130 x 85mm. These cards consisted of pairs of postcards that were only available in sets from the street lottery of the Winter Relief Organization in 1934/35 (they were not sold at post office counters). The ticket price was 50Pf, and only every tenth card in the set had a stamp on one of the two halves.
Contiguous pairs of cards were not allowed to be sent by post, but there are pieces that were used without objection. There are 200 different images (100 pairs). 22 of the cards have a pre-printed stamp. See here for more details.
