38. WANDERAUSSTELLUNG, MANNHEIM
(31st May/5th Jun 1932)

BACKGROUND: This colourful postcard was publishd to commemorate the 38th German Agricultural Society Travelling Exhibition in Mannheim from 31st May to 5th Jun 1932. The D.L.G (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft) was founded on Dec 11th 1885 in Berlin, with the mission to promote German agriculture and it still exists today. The travelling show consisted of a series of agriculture events including animal shows and agriculture equipment manufacturers that set up every year in a different German city.

There were at least two different but similar designs used, the first of which became the standard version for later exhibitions.

SONDERSTEMPEL: A special cancel was used from the 31st May until the 5th Jun 1932 inscribed "Wanderausstellung 31.5.-5.6.32 | * Deutsche Landwertshafts Gesellschaft * ", and featuring 4 ears of corn.
