BACKGROUND: This impressive postcards is titled "Die Lebendige Front" or 'The Living Front' and it commemorates Hitler's SA troops. The figure in the left foreground is most probably Ernst Julius Günther Röhm (28th Nov 1887 – 1st Jul 1934), the SA leader who was murdered during the Night of the Long Knives, when Hitler and his SS bodyguards purged the SA ranks of any and all potential rivals.
