OFFICIAL POSTCARD
6 Rpf FRIEDRICH EBERT

Issued: Jan 1932. Like P203 but now with changed form. Now with sender's note consisting of 5 lines of text measuring 21 mm high and three dotted lines.

VALIDITY: Jan 1932 until 30th Jun 1934

A P199 must have the following characteristics:
(1) 6 Pf olive-green Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp. And
(2) 5 lines of text in the sender's address section.
(3) Height of dotted lines in sender's section 21 mm high.

There are two versions of this postcard: P199-I has all straight edges and P199-II has one or more serrated edges.

1. Posted on BERLIN-WURTZBURG train No. Z33 on 20th Apr 1933 (Hitler's birthday), this card was delivered to an address in SCHWEINFURT.

SPECIAL SLOGAN CANCELS

1. The slogan cancellation used on the following card reads "werbet fur den | Bund Naturschutz | in Bayern | M'tinchen - Romerstrasse 4" - 'Promoting the Association for Nature Conservation in Bavaria München - Romerstrasse 4'. It was used every year from 1932 to 1936 and exists in several different formats.

2. The following card sent from HILDESHEIM to BERLIN NORTH on 8th Jul 1932 features a very common slogan used throughout Germany which encourages the public to use Airmail.

3. The example below was posted in JENA on 2nd Jun 1933 and features a slogan inscribed "Schafft | Haubriefkasten an" - 'Create a home mailbox'. This slogan was used every year from 1930 until 1938 in APOLDA, ERFURT, GERA, GREIZ, JENA, NORDHAUS, RUDOLSTADT and SCHMALKALDEN.

4. The slogan cancel on this next card, inscribed "Vergiβ nicht Straβe | und Hausnummer | anzugeben" reminds the public to 'Don't forget to include street and house number' when they send their mail. This slogan was very commonly used throughout Germany.
