1,100 ANNIVERSARY DUDERSTADT

BACKGROUND: Duderstadt was another of the cities in Germany celebrating its 1,100th Anniversary in 1929. The city is located in southern Lower Saxony in Gottingen. The image on the card is that of one of the eight gate towers, this one known as the Westerturn. The tower is unusual, but not unique, in its twisted roof construction. The example below also has the special cancellation used to commemorate the anniversary.
