BACKGROUND: The following postcards were part of a series of postcards published by kunstdruckerei Ziegler Beckmann of Köln am Rhein to commemorate the 14th German Gymnastics Festival held in Köln in 1928.

Each of the cards has an inscription on the reverse side that reads "Amtl. Festpostkarte fur das 14. Deutsche Turnfest | Köln 1928 nach Entwurf der Werbeabtig. d.E.F" - 'Official Celebration postcard for the 14th German Gymnastics Festival | Cologne 1928 based on a design by the advertising department. d.D.E'
