LEISNIG HEIMATFEST
(2nd/4th Jul 1927)
BACKGROUND: Leisnig is a town on the Freiberger Mulde in the district of Mittelsachsen in the Free State of Saxony, about 50 km south-east of Leipzig.
The postcards depicted here commemorate the "Heimatfest" or Home Festival, which was held in the city on 2nd to 4th Jul 1927.

This first card published by J. J. Weber is inscribed "Leisnig | DIE STADT | AUF DEM BERGE | DIE STADT DER BAUMBLUTE | HEIMATFEST 2. bis 4. Juli 1927" - 'Leisnig | THE CITY | ON THE MOUNTAIN | THE CITY OF TREE BLOSSOM | HOME FESTIVAL July 2-4, 1927'.The castle is known as 'Burg Leising' or more commonly Mildenstein Castle. The shield in the bottom right is the the City of Leisnig's Coat of Arms.

This second card is somewhat similar to the first only now the image is from the River Mulde (Freiberger Mulde). The castle and coat of Arms are shown once again.
