BACKGROUND: P207 is a special postcard issued to commemorate the eightieth birthday of Reich's President Paul von Hindenburg. The value stamp is an 8 Rpf Hindenburg stamp. The card sold for 15 Rpf and 1.5 million cards were printed. Issued on 26th Sep 1927 this card was valid for use until 31st Jul 1928.

There are two versions of this card:




ABOVE LEFT: P207a was printed on whiter card stock.
ABOVE RIGHT: P207b was printed on darker coloured card.

As well as the official card there were at least 10 official cards with additional private printing.

SPECIAL CANCEL: There was a related special cancellation used in BERLIN and DRESDEN inscribed "24.9.-6.12.1927 | Gebt | zur |Hindenburg- | Spende"
