MICHEL P238
OFFICIAL POSTCARD
GET TO KNOW GERMANY

Issued 1937. The sixth Hindenburg series of Get to Know Germany appeared in mid-1937 and is referred to as P238 in the series. In this series the green tones, images and text colour returns, but the pre-printed Hindenburg stamp is now a 5Rpf stamp rather than the original 6Rpf stamp. This set bears the printers number 37-97-1-BX and consists of 9 cards. Each card has the heading 'Lernt Deutschland Kennen!' but card No.6 advertising Schierke, has an additional subheading 'Gesundung Erholing bietet' loosely translated as 'Recovery offers recovery'.

1st Oct 1937. This Official postcard was used to celebrate The Harvest Thanksgiving in 1937. There was also a special cancel used in Bückeburg inscribed 'Bückeburg | Erntedanktag'

Issued 22nd Nov 1937 to raise funds for the Winter Relief Fund and valid for use until 30th Jun 1938. The card features a 6Rpf stamp with an additional 4Rpf for the charity. The card was available with a special cancel in 12 different cities.
