VALIDITY: Officially Issued 22nd Nov 1937 and valid for use until 30th Jun 1938.
Published to raise funds for the annual Winter Relief Fund, the card features a 6 Rpf stamp with an additional 4 Rpf for the charity. Examples of this card being used before the official issue date of 22nd Nov 1937 can be found.
The card was designed by artist couple von Axtler-Heudlass in Berlin and the intention was to highlight the importance of deep sea fishing to the German people. A large part of the catch was 'donated' to the WHW and then passed on to those in need.
As well as the official card, this card can also be found with one of many additional private printings.
SONDERSTEMPEL: A special cancel was available in 12 different cities.

1. The card below was cancelled on the first day of issue on 22nd Nov 1937 in the town of BAD SEGBERG.
2. The next card was also cancelled on the first day of issue, 22nd Nonv 1937, this time in the town of LUCKENWALDE with the destination of LEIPZIG.

4. The following card was cancelled in LUCKENWALDE and features a CDS with the word "LAND" indicating it was cancelled at a rural post office. There is an additional violet handstamp which reads "Berkenbrück über Luckenwalde".

THE UNITED STATES
1. The postcard below was sent from CHEMNITZ to NEW YORK on 9th Jan 1938 and the special slogan cancel is one used in CHEMNITZ to commemorate the 3rd 'Day of the Stamp'. To cover the increased postage to the USA, two additional self-adhesive stamps have been added for a total of 17Rpf, 2Rpf more than was required.2. The following foreign usage is a postcard sent from STETTIN to SYRACUSE, New York on 16th Dec 1937. This card was correctly franked at 15Rpf with the addition of two self-adhesive stamps of 6Rpf and 3Rpf.
3. Below is another P266 postcard sent to NEW YORK on 12th Jan 1938. The card was posted in DRESDEN and was correctly franked at 15Rpf.
4. The next card was sent to LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK from FRANKFURT (MAIN) on 30th Nov 1937. This example was overly franked by 1 Rpf at 16Rpf.

SPECIAL SLOGAN CANCELS
1. This frist example was favour cancelled with a special handstmp inscribed "BERLIN REICHSTAG | Groβe Antibolschewistische Ausstellung | Bolschewismus | ohne | Maske | 6.11.-19.12.37" - 'BERLIN REICHSTAG, Great Anti-Bolshevik Exhibition; Bolshevism without a Mask | 6.11.-19.12.37'2. This domestically used card was sent from STUTTGART to PLAUITZ (?). This example has a speical cancel used to commemorate the first Swabian Postal Exhibition held in STUTTGART from 8th to 16th Jan 1938.
3. The example below was sent from DRESDEN to PLANITZ (?) on the 4th Dec 1937. The card has a special cancel used to commemorate the Day of National Solidarity sponsored by Gau Sachsen. There is also the logo of Gau Saxony, a small green rectangle with two crossed swords.
4. The card below was sent from AUGSBURG, BAVARIA to KEMPTEN im ALLGAU also in BAVARIA on 1st Apr 1938. The slogan cancel "Am 10 April | Dem Führer | Dein "Ja"" - 'On 10th April, the leader, your "Yes"', is related to the upcoming vote in Austria on whether or not to become part of a Greater Germany.
5. Another card with a special handstamp, this one a combination of the Winterhilfswerk and the Day of the Stamp used on 9th Jan 1938 and sent from a BERLIN mobile post office (f) to WUSTERHAUSEN DOSSE.
6. The special handstamp on the following example commemorates the Day of National Solidarity on 4th Dec 1937. The card was addressed to a well-known stamp collector Fritz PAEPLOW in BERLIN.
7. Another card featuring the Day of the Stamp special handstamp, again applied at one of the mobile post offices (b) in BERLIN on 8th Jan 1938.
8. The following card has two cancellations: the first a regular CDS in FRANKFURT (MAIN) and the second a special handstamp used to commemorate the anniversary of the Hilter becoming Chancellor on 30th Jan 1933. The red 12Rpf stamp was not required as the local postage rate would have been 5Rpf.
9. The favour cancelled example belows has the special slogan cancellation used in BERLIN-CHARLOTTENBURG from 3rd to 21st Nov 1937 that commemorates the International Hunting Exhibition.
