Issued: Jan 1932. There are two versions of this postcard: P199-I has straight edges and P199-II has a serrated edge. Like P203 but now with changed form, now with sender's note 21 mm high.
A P199 must have the following characteristics:
(1) 6 Rpf olive-green Hindenburg Medallion pre-printed stamp. And
(2) 5 lines of text in the sender's address section.
(3) Height of dotted lines in sender's section 21 mm high.

CENTENARY of Goethe's DEATH

This postcard depicts a head and shoulders side view of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, German writer and statesman. Goethe was born on 28th Aug 1749 in Frankfurt and he died at the age of 82 in Weimar on 22nd Mar 1832. The postcard features a dark green 6 Rpf indicia stamp and was produced on buff card. The reverse side is blank.

Issued 1st Oct 1932 and published to raise funds for the German Emergency Fund. The image on the left is that of Paul von Hindenburg, the German President. The value stamp is a semi-postal, 6 Rpf + 4 Rpf pre-printed stamp depicting the Tannenberg Memorial. There is a special cancel related to this postcard, inscribed "HOHENSTEIN (OSTPR) | Nationaldenkmal" that was used every year from 1927 to 1936.
