BACKGROUND: This stamp was designed by Axster-Heudtlass to celebrate the foundation of the S.A. Sports Medal. This medal was a very prestigious award that was handed out to S.A. members who achieved a high standard in several events during S.A. Sports week. This stamp exists in a wide variety of shades from very light to very dark violet. The events were held in different towns on different dates and each town had its own special handstamp, available only on that day. There were 10 different cities that used this postmark. (Requires verification).
