BACKGROUND: This is the first of two stamps designed by Tischer and printed at the State Printing Works in Vienna to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the National Goldsmith's Institute. An official postcard was also available with one of eight different messages on the reverse side encouraging membership of the society.
