BACKGROUND: Issued 20th Mar 1942 until 1944: This was the first of four stamps were designed by Prof. Dachaur and printed by the State Printing Office in Vienna.

There are two versions:
Type "A" is Perf L 12½ (so-called "perfix - perforation") and
Type "B" is perf 14.

VALIDITY: 20th Mar 1942 until May 1945
VALUE: 3 MARK
COLOUR: dark brownish red
WATERMARK: None
PERF: Type 'A' - Perf L 12½, Type 'B' - perf K14
